Get Involved
PNHP California has a keen interest in developing new healthcare activists. Rather than encouraging you to get active by writing your congressman or throwing a house party for single payer, we want you to start by getting connected to our organization: come to a local chapter meeting, participate in a teach-in, come to our summer conference and develop a single payer advocacy skill set.
PNHP California has three broad categories of activism: Education (speaking to physicians, the public and the media, print/web media outreach, research and policy expertise), Advocacy (meeting with political representatives and organizing political events), Growth (building chapters, recruiting members, developing activists, strengthening our local coalition), and Service (volunteer efforts in support of the underinsured and uninsured).
Each category of activism requires some training. Each category of activism requires particular skills. And each category has jobs that only require 4 hours per month. Contact us and we will identify the role that best suits your talent and time availability.
