Paul Hochfeld and Walter Tsou coming to the Summer Conference

Dear PNHP California members and friends,

We have exciting news about the Summer Conference at UCLA on July 17. In addition to the terrific lineup of speakers previously announced (Senators Mark Leno and Sheila Kuehl, television personalities Dr. Paul Song and Dr. Margaret Flowers, policy experts Dr. Don McCanne, Michael Lighty and Sara Rogers), we now have confirmation of two additional activists: Dr. Paul Hochfeld from Mad As Hell Doctors and Dr. Walter Tsou, former president of the American Public Health Association and Philadelphia health commissioner.

The Summer Conference is also enjoying great support from the other coalition organizations of the California single payer community. The purpose of the conference is twofold: the current objective to review, dissect and respond to the recent federal health reform legislation, and a long term goal of using the Summer Conference as an annual opportunity to bring activists together from across the state to meet, share best practices, and build grassroots task forces around particular areas of activism- speaking, press, regional coalition collaboration, specific population outreach, framing, and legislative advocacy.

To learn more about the conference you can go to our website- pnhpcalifornia.org. To purchase tickets go to http://thesummerconference.eventbrite.com/- the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets of $95.50 has been extended so purchase now before the price goes up.
