Jerome P. Helman, M.D., is a gastroenterologist devoted to nutrition, preventive medicine and single-payer healthcare. He has a broad experience in private practice and managed care, including the military, in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Michigan, Illinois and California. In addition to the steering committee of the Los Angeles chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program, he volunteers at the Venice Family Clinic and St. Joseph Center in Venice that serves the poor and homeless.
Jerry is a vital part of Operation Single Payer, a legislative advocacy tool for California. He is the district leader for the 53rd California Assembly District and the 36th Congressional District.
